Robotics at LVHS

A hands-on pathway where students turn ideas into working systems through engineering, code, teamwork, testing, and continuous improvement.

Building the Foundation

A Program in Motion

The LVHS robotics program is growing from the ground up. Students help shape team routines, organize equipment, establish documentation, and build a culture that values curiosity, safety, persistence, and shared ownership.

Engineering Process

Plan. Build. Test. Improve.

Teams define a challenge, sketch and model possible solutions, divide work across build and programming roles, test against clear criteria, document results, and improve through evidence rather than guesswork.

Skills Progression

From VEXcode VR to V5

Students can begin by learning navigation, sensors, loops, and autonomous logic in VEXcode VR, then transfer those ideas to physical VEX V5 robots as teams, equipment, and projects develop.

Robotics Meets TSA

Robotics is its own program, with natural overlap in TSA events involving design, engineering, automation, documentation, and presentation. Students can use each experience to strengthen the other.

Meetings & Updates

Robotics students meet in Room 323 with Mr. Davisson. Current build sessions, team assignments, and project updates are shared through program announcements.
